How about the guy who's in the wrong forum? e.g-someone who thinks he's a very wise amateur philosopher, so he joins a philosophy forum and tries to sound intelligent around people who actually are. Or someone who has successfully kept a cactus alive for a month, so he joins a gardeners forum and imparts his wisdom every chance he gets. And I don't even want to discuss the high school biology student who joins the brain surgeons forum.

How about the guy who complains about people not belonging in a forum, because they don't know enough about the subject?

I had a guy that was posting snide things just after each of my posts, following me across several threads, and then after I complained to him, I got a notification that he was "following " me. It pissed me off.

Nah, it can get nasty. I had a stalker situation develop from a follower where the guy posted my kids school addresses online when I threatened to report him.

A stalker need not announce himself via the "Follow" button. And disturbed folks can pop out of anywhere, though thanks to Kevin and all the mods over the years, we are pretty clean from filth.

I was on a sailing forum for years and people would get stupid, some would get kicked off others would write a 30 page email of resignation.
I am on a fishing forum, nothing like that happens, ever.
