This estate Hardcastle "Jockey Club" 731X (if I remember right) is pretty small and light, but it does have a medium bowl capacity - smokes hot easily, thin bowl walls. There must be an ideal fast tobacco that would suit it - I haven't explored much, the weird mouthpiece doesn't gel for me.

Isn't that a 'dental bit' that is supposed to work better for denture wearers?

I am glad this thread got resuscitated as it encouraged me to dig out a few smaller pipes to give everyone a little bit of Wednesday evening pipe pornography. They are all pretty old starting from the mid 1860s until about the very early 1900s give or take a few years. I posted the banded 'cutty' from the late 1860s to give you some sense of scale and yes they all get smoked!

Has anyone tried the Big Ben 'Pipo'. I have the chance to buy one but I don't really 'need' another small pipe. Owner says it's a good smoker, but of course he would.

I have a Big Ben Pipo and a couple of Rangers. They’re fun little pipes and I’m glad I have them. The pipes are Nosewarmers, but the chambers are average sized, so not that quick a smoke (think about .77" x 1.0").

I just smoked a second bowl in this green Paronelli that was pretty incredible for a tiny, well-finished pipe that sells for around $100.
Definitely a sweet little (all pun intended) collection you have there. I have a few small cutty clays and some Kaywoodies but that’s it

I don’t have a Big Ben Pipo but have these 2 similar sized pipes.
The top sandblasted is a Belgium-made Albert
The lower is a French Cogolin.
Not 10min smokes, but depending on the cut of the tobacco, good for 20mins to 30mins.
Nice pocket pipes.

What a fascinating thread. I never knew these existed. Some beautiful examples.

As a Falcon fan I know they used to produce a range marketed as Bantam with a shorter stem and half size bowl. You can still get the bantam bowls to fit the full stems, but they don't look right to my eye and look much better on the original bantam stems which are around 4"-5"

Here's one I 'restored' and added a new bowl (the original was beyond redemption).
