Old Fredder's has more flavor and is a little brighter/juicier than Janneman flake.
If you have both try mixing some Janneman with Louisana Broken. About 2/3 Jannnman.
That is somewhat similiar.
I havent tried them back to back but in my head they are close.

Im probably not going to order more Janneman but I will stock Old Fredders

If you are in the South stop by sometime for a smoke!

Im about 45 minutes from Perpignan.
Since Janneman flake has been brought up, I might as well ask:
I'm trying to get into va/pers. I find Janneman to be extremely mild in flavour. I know virginias do tend to be on the subtle side but I think my palate needs one with a bolder flavour to start with. How do blends like Hal O the Wynd or Marlin flake compare to Janneman flake, in terms of boldness of flavour? I am right in finding Janneman especially mild?

The Ratrays are different
Janneman is probably one of the mildest HU blends.
Id suggest Directors Cut.

Petersons Deluxe navy rolls are really good and more potent than janneman also a little sweeter.

Marlin is not a tradional vaper HOTW is but I think Id go for Old Gowrie
...but I think Directors Cut is better and more full bodied.

Thanks Sigmund. I've added Director's cut to my future purchase list and i'll grab either OG or HotW when I can. Worst case, I know it will be a quality blend I can revisit in the future. Good to hear it's not just me finding Janneman so mild.

I mix my janneman with Louisiana broken to make it a red based vaper. It’s really already a vaper but the added perique and other Virginias kick up the flavor profile. You may want to put Old Fredders on your list. I’ve been smoking it regularly.

Janneman and Marlin Flake are close, janneman is milder but the cut is the same, Marlin Flake is more robust but they are close for sure. Doesn't compare to hal o the wind. Hal o the wind and ol gowrie are close, both ribbon cut kinda, one has perique and both are more stout that janneman, marlin flake is an acquired thing I think, it grew on me throughout the tin but if you are expecting HB, it is not that. Also try brown clunee, it's fantastic.
