Spot on.On an unrelated note, I heard that a US manufacturer is taking steps to use a man made tobacco substitute to replace natural grown tobacco in all of its products by 2028, an anonymous trusted industry insider code named “Dark Throat” revealed recently on Telegram…
Ok, I understand that the kids don't have an interest in running the company, but why on earth would then not want their name associated with a brand that has achieved what every company aspires to, within their niche or industry? That is, the premiere brand of all within that industry? Not saying that there are not pipes that may be better, etc., just that the name has achieved that pinnacle.
I said that the MacBaren kids didn't mind their name associated with the company. It was the Dunhill corporation that objected to the "brand" name being used by tobacco. We've had hundreds of threads about this. The Dunhill kids, if there are any, are moot, since it incorporated. And, the Dunhill corporation a fashion industry that no longer wants ties to tobacco. Check out one of the many many many threads we've had about this.I understand that the kids don't have an interest in running the company, but why on earth would then not want their name associated with a brand that has achieved what every company aspires to,
That is not actually an official Dunhill company web site. It is just a domain name that was registered by the original owners of CupOJoes. They did a big business selling Dunhill pipes on their site for years. When they sold their shop, that web site went with it. Dunhill the company actually does no marketing for their pipes at all.As long as the website maintains the name I. The link and references them as Dunhill pipes, it is what it is. Actually, it was Mary Dunhill who had the tobacco business spun off, becoming part of BAT, in which Dunhill had an interest. And the family moved to have their name no longer associated with pipes or tobaccos, except for Dunhill cigarettes.A little different. Whereas, MacBaren's kids, just don't seem to want the business, but want the money. They didn't seem to mind their name on tobacco products. The Dunhill corporation (not family) , did not want the money, nor the association with tobacco in any way. It probably pisses them off still when we call the pipes, Dunhills.
Ok, got it. I had purposely stayed out of this marathon thread until just a few posts back.I said that the MacBaren kids didn't mind their name associated with the company. That will provide some great fertilizer to go along with all the bull we are slinging!Ok, got it. I had purposely stayed out of this marathon thread until just a few posts back.
Going back to watching the mushrooms grow...........
I wondered about that. That is not actually an official Dunhill company web site. It is just a domain name that was registered by the original owners of CupOJoes. They did a big business selling Dunhill pipes on their site for years. When they sold their shop, that web site went with it. Dunhill the company actually does no marketing for their pipes at all.
Dunhill still sells cigarettes.A little different.
Dunhill still has "it's name" on cigarettes. Seems like I remember someone digging up that the cigarettes were a totally separate company, out of the control of the fashion corporation. There are many threads on this subject if one would wish to dig through that stuff.Dunhill still sells cigarettes.
And Mac Baren is not the family's name. They are not Danish Scots!
Neither Dunhill nor "dunhill" sell cigarettes. As a brand they do exist but, neither company makes nor vends them.Dunhill still sells cigarettes.
In the luxury fashion croud, they are still a must. Pipes are just an archaic throwback that owes their life support to the cigarette market.Dunhill still sells cigarettes.
The Dunhill brand has not been connected to pipes since 2011. That's why they changed the name to Alfred Dunhill's White Spot.As long as the website maintains the name I. Right. My point was so long as websites selling them refer to them as Dunhill pipes there will be confusion and it is what it is. To that extent the Dunhill name is still associated with the pipe. The Dunhill brand has not been connected to pipes since 2011. That's why they changed the name to Alfred Dunhill's White Spot.
