Enjoyed another bowl of the Tavern the other day in my Peterson Aran. I think I've found a pipe to dedicate to that blend. I'm not sure why the combination worked so well, but it did!

I am glad to see more people try American Patriot now that the "Penzance Comparison" is over. Jack is a great guy - and is fun to talk too. One time we talked about "Twisters" out in the Mid-West. Being a CA boy I never saw one up close (Thank God!) and he had quite a few stories about them. Actually we had a mini twister in Santa Rosa,CA that came and went after ripping the roof off a building and smashing up another building this year.
Currently I am smoking this Mystery Blend he is tinkering on - that just Rocks!

Sorry to bring up an old thread... Ok not really!
I smoked my sample of MY BUDDY from Sterling Tobacco last night.
OH MY GOD.
Amazing natural tobacco smooth cool smoking greatness. This is what the leaf is SUPPOSED to taste like.
And it smoked itself! I put no cognitive effort in keeping the pipe lit. Just enjoying the tobacco.
I still haven't invested any money into a high quality pipe. But in my cheapo $40 H.I.S. Rusticated Bent Brandy looking thing this tobacco smoked all the way to the bottom of the bowl with no relights.
It was amazing. My first time ever smoking all the way to the bottom. Not a leaf of dottle in sight. I'm not really sure how thats even possible. All the leaf turned into a beautiful powdery ash. No chunks of well burnt tobacco to be found.
It was a truely transcendant smoke.
I must have more of this!

Good question if Jack has guys under him I know he has a blender maybe thats who would carry it on but as far as I know Jack runs the show.
