On the real side of things, I would be interested in the amount of increased traffic your product (this great site) does increase sales for our advertisers. I do understand the info is kinda on the secret so I do not expect any numbers.
1. Dollar figures aside, here's what tells the story - our 1st 2 advertisers ever, 4noggins.com and Missouri Meerschaum (Corn Cob Pipes) have been steady advertisers since November 2009 - so going on 29 months straight of sending checks every month. I don't think they are doing that purely out of the kindness of their hearts. It must be that the advertising works.
Some advertisers come and go, but here are some that have had non-stop advertising for significant periods:
Longest running non-stop advertisers on PM.com
4noggins.com - since November 1, 2009 (1 year, 5 months)

Missouri Meerschaum - since November 1, 2009 (1 year, 5 months)

Cup O Joes - since May 1, 2010 (11 months)

PipesandCigars.com - since May 1, 2010 (11 months)

SmokingPipes.com - since June 1, 2010 (10 months)

Cornell & Diehl - since July 1, 2010 (9 months)
(The monthly tally above includes the upcoming month of April.) The full current sponsor list can be seen on the left sidebar just above Bob's list of featured articles.
I just hope we as a group uses them for some of our purchasing needs.
2. This site would not be able to exist in it's current form without our advertiser's support, so you guys supporting them, immensely helps keep the lights on around this cool place you like to hangout at online, and is much appreciated.

I just contacted Jack Peterson and he is sending me out a sample of the 1776 Tavern Blend. Looking forward to trying it and ordering some other blends to try. Great person to do business with and he will be on list of sources to order from in the future.

Well that answers that question. It is good to see them staying it with it even if it isn't because they just like being kind with their money

Men, stay tuned to this channel. Jack Peterson just put together a custom blend at my personal request. It's going to be very big news on the pipeline. All I'm going to suggest is keep your ears to the ground and keep your best pipe ready for your next favorite tobacco. If you like living large, this one is really BIG!

Marma14de and all brothers: Yes, Jack came up with it at my personal request. I shall keep you all informed. Jack is currently still in the evaluative stage with the blend. It has been sent out to test smokers and we are waiting for evaluations to come in. I'm enjoying a large bowl right at this moment as I am keyboarding and all I can say is that this blend will be flying off Sterling's shelf. Jack Peterson is the blender of the century!

Sorry I'm sworn to secrecy until Jack Peterson rolls it out. He has assured me that he will have a large batch and a steady supply available. It will be out in his 1776 product line.

I too have had nothing but great experiences, both with Jack and his tobaccos. In fact, this thread reminds me it's about time to dip into my Sweet Briar stash...and MJT, I'm dying to know what your blend is!! Aromatic, heavy English, Balkan, VaPer....c'mon, some hints at least!

@mjtannen -- are these your doing, sir?

Today I am introducing two new English style blends. The first one is called "Freedom Blend". Made with light and dark Virginias, Orientals and Latakia, this blend has a great flavor you won't find else where.
The second blend "American Patriot", is close to a Balkan. Extra Latakia and Orientals make this smoke a very bold one indeed.
These two blends use 100% top quality tobaccos so they are pricey and perhaps will find dedicated English smokers.
I just ordered, looking forward to them! His Royal London Dock is an amazing blend--I hated Latakia till I met RLD.

Romeowood: I'm the man behind the incredible American Patriot blend. I sent Jack (who I'd been communicating with and a customer of) a sample of my precious Penzance. My request was "Can you duplicate this so the pressure of never having a steady supply would be off." It took about two weeks and I received a sample of delicousness to try. That was American Patriot. I was sworn to secrecy during the test phase. Jack has a group of guys who get first dibbs to see how we like his newest blends. Clanobucklin is another tester. Once we knew we had a winner I had the honor of naming the blend and I suggested American Patriot. Now the secret is out and the blend is available and what a winner we all have. If you like Penzance and fear not being able to purchase any, get American Patriot into your pipe. I had no part in Freedom Blend. I'll have to get some and try it. Jack is a gentleman and a scholar. I'm just a guy who asked him "Can you do it?" Jack Peterson is a master blender who comes through with the goods. I am proud to be his friend.

I don't believe he has a B&M shop. He is only phone / internet. I am also interested in the American Patriot blend.

I received my order of American Patriot and it was Very Good!! To me it was not as rich as Penzance, but the flavor was great. The Latakia he uses in it is amazing! Gonna give it a few more times then I am going to get a good review together.

I guess I am kinda bringing this thread back. I just got my order of sterlings Millionaire Blend and Country Club both are excellent. I have tried a few of Jacks blends now and like the all except Madrid but I don't care much for cherry blends but it was a sample my Brother gave me and he loves the stuff. I think the Millionaire blend my be my favorite so far. I wish I would have ordered more because I have a feeling it might go pretty quick. :D

I have tried the Double Eagle, which is a cube cut aromatic, very nice. The 1776 Tavern blend is very good, an English with a smoothe smoke, and wonderful taste. I have tried the Old Dominion blend as well, which I imagine is supposed to be like Paladin Black Cherry. Not my favorite, but it is straight Virginia, I think, and I am not fond of straight Virginia tobacco. My last PAD left me a little short this month, but I want to make the Double Eagle and 1776 Tavern blend regular in my rotation.

I have tried several of his blends, Patriot is a favorite of mine, so is Old Dominion. I also order his Bargain.....at $1.00 per oz you can not beat it.

Jack is a great person and does business the right way....you contact him he gets back with you, charges a fair price for a super product and does exactly what he says he will do.....

I am currently working my way through his blends as money allows. Sounds like I need try Millionaire next.
