The reset must be more complicated than just every January. Maybe it’s an amount spent within the last x months, rolling over? The options are endless.

From another forum, I read that gold is assigned manually. There’s a minimum lifetime spend of some tens of thousands plus $5000 in a 12-month rolling period, or $50,000 lifetime. 10% off all pipes, and 20% off Dunhills.
if I spent 5000 on stuff there for 12 months I'd never buy another pipe as I'd still be trying to remember if I already owned that style already. Nice pipe, did I buy a nearly identical one, have to go down to the vault and see.....
