I consider myself a morning person but I’ve never got into a routine of smoking in the morning. I think it’s because I always figured I’d have to wake up at least an hour earlier lol. Im curious, what’s your morning routine like? How long do you take to smoke a bowl in the morning?
I usually take a pinch of snuff nasally first thing in the morning. It helps wake me up more then a pipe does. I only take a pipe in the morning if I am on vacation and someone else is taking care of the coffee. I prefer to be more awake before I have my first pipe.
Though if I am having a bad bout of insomnia weirdly that's when a pipe and a travel mug of coffee is just perfect.

Those that can't get up early enough, don't feel bad... I don't wake up until 11:30 to noon, and that's by force (the dogs have a routine). That means some nights I get a full 8 hours, other nights it's more like 4-5 hours. Trust me, I know the feeling of "not having enough time". If I could truly sleep on my own clock's schedule, I would be randomly waking anywhere from 11 am to 3 pm.

I don't start my day with a pipe. Even if I had the time, it takes me too long to fully wake up to be able to even futz with loading up a pipe, let alone actually enjoy it. I start and do most of my day with a cigarette while I'm in zombie mode.

Coffee and a pipe every morning. It's probably my favorite smoke of the day. In fact, I sometimes start the night before with pre-packing a bowl so it's ready to go once the coffee is poured. By morning, the tobacco at the top of the bowl is nicely dried and readily accepts flame.
And like @irishearl it's often OJK. That blend pairs so well with coffee.
I never thought of packing the night before. You don’t find it drys out too much?

I like my tobacco on the dry side so I don't have any issues with doing this. I usually will choose a "no fuss" ribbon cut tobacco such as Bayou Morning to start the day. Easily lit, burns well, minimal maintenance with adequate nicotine delivery. I program my coffee pot to go off at a set time, so all I have to do is arise from my slumber, stumble into the kitchen, grab a cup of Joe and the preloaded pipe and I'm off to the races.

This side patio off my library is where you can find me most mornings at 6am. The vintage ashtray stand is from the lobby of an old Pittsburgh hotel. The only downside is that it is on the Western side of the house so I miss the sun coming up…but it does work for viewing a glorious sunset.

No, sir. But I don't do it if it's an abnormally dry day/night. If I'm concerned about over drying, I'll wait to pack the bowl until morning. Usually the blend is dry enough to light easily but not so dry that it burns too fast or loses flavor. If I'm feeling extremely ambitious, I'll even do a char light the night before.
