Get up, smoke a cigarette and drink cola. Then another cigarette because I've been sleeping and I gots to get caught up on my nicotine. Turn on the news or SEC/ESPN and smoke another cigarette. Blow my nose, cough, and have another cigarette. Grab some breakfast, then smoke another cigarette. This will continue for the day until night in which I will smoke a cigarette before my first pipe. After my pipe another cigarette and start another pipe. Then a few more cigarettes until bed.

You're absolutely right, except for one thing. All the other things do help. The patches, gums, pills, pipes, snuff, cigars all help. None is a magic bullet that'll knock away the desire for a cigarette on its own, but they do help.
A psychedelic drug called DMT was a magic bullet for me, I quit smoking, drinking, and doing drugs all at once without intending to or trying to and I did it with 6 packs left in a carton that I ended up giving away to my neighbour. I'm not saying it would work for anyone else but it worked for me like magic.
