This has been a lot of fun. I just smoked two bowls of War Horse Green back to back and I'm seeing purple dragons. Time for a nap...

All kidding aside (temporarily) the War Horse line of blends are some of your great accomplishments, Russ. We are very grateful for your hard work and artistry.

Hmmmm....I have had the pleasure of smoking several of Russ's blends and would find it hard to say that War Horse Green or Red was the pinnacle of his blending repertoire......surely even he sees that the topping is over the top?
It's late, I'm cold and in bed so shall wish you all a good night :puffy:
Regards,
Jay.

I like War Horse Bar the way it is, but I have to be careful when smoking it. There are non-straight full bodied virgin women lurking in the dark. 8O

I look at everything I've done for what it is. Did I accomplish what I set out to? If the answer is "yes", then I feel good about it. With the War Horse blends, we were going for an unabashedly strong blend, and I smoked it before applying the topping. It had a room note like a truckload of manure laid on top of burning tires. The flavor was earthy and peppery. Is the flavoring over the top? Yes, but I felt it had to be.

I think the consensus here is that people like WH Bar despite us as a company telling them not to like it!
It sounds revolting but I still want to try it. I know, it's perverted

As for me, I can smoke either bar and take some enjoyment out of them. It does have to be in a small bowl, and the toppings do seem to light up my palette more than any other blend I've had. Even though I might would regret it, I would like to try just once the original that Russ and the others tasted, just to know what the original tastes like after such a long time. I would probably enjoy the current one even more as a result. Certainly not for everyone but I'm not sorry I have a few tins of each.

Which seems as good a segue as any for SToP's truth in advertising ad campaign:

Works as a chaw for those who dine or drink in "no-smoking" facilities. Could use a bit of tasty molasses which would be hard on the pipe. Surprisingly, discretely spitting into an empty bottle only seems to upset the waitresses collecting the empties.
