The last tin of War Horse that I finished and tossed the tin into the garbage, on top of cooked onions, some rancid left overs that got tossed, and an warmed empty jug of milk. Then the bag was thrown into the big garbage can outside, and a few days latter, when I pulled the can to the road, I still got a whiff of War Horse. No kidding.
Empty tins would be great to dump around gas leaks... or to put around Diaper Genies for new parents.

War Horse Green makes pretty good Moth repellent or a semi decent replacement for the lavender bag in the underwear/sock drawer. The War Horse line is one of those tobaccos you either love or hate.

Hmm...
Obnoxiously scented? Pungently like Play-Doh? Stinks to high Heaven?
Maybe I need to try these. :D

I don't think the pick up line 'Would you like to sniff my War Horse?' would get you very far with either sex although in certain leather bars/clubs it might get you a few eyebrow raising suggestions!

@ Cosmic
As in Bee's Wax or Pledge furniture polish? Both are lovely to my delicate olfactory senses.

We were originally going to call this blend "Wharf Horse", after the pier-diving equines of Atlantic City, NJ. The blend had aromas of hay, grass, and hay and grass again, once the horse got through with it. Russ got cold feet at the last minute, dumped some of his girlfriend's feminine freshness product into the mix, and the rest is history. Or Herstory, if you prefer.

Considering that I had the chemical analysis of the original War Horse Bar to work with, we had to make some decisions as to what to use and what to leave out. We settled on leaving out the shoe polish, acetone, turpentine, and asbestos (although it helped to make the original burn nice and slow).

Ahhh, thanks Russ, we can add our own turpentine and shoe polish, right?
By all means. I would let it air out a bit before lighting, though. The blue flames coming out of the chamber are actually quite pretty, but they're hell on a briar or corn cob.

Here
I traded them off a couple days later.
Are those the ones I have now?
It actually smokes reasonably well......it's just that it stinks so.
My local pipe club cohorts have said that about me... 8O
I guess I'll have to deploy my last untainted cob and see for myself. I'm just trying so hard to not have more open tins at this point...

It's very difficult to find real shoe polish these days. Black, oil-based lead trim paint makes for a suitable replacement.

No, Jay, the ones I sold you was the Ready Cut version. I was talking about the Red & Green War Horse above. I don't really get a Play-Doh note in the Ready Cut... It seems like an entirely different blend than the Red & Green.
