Fixed blade Friday, right? I'm crap with pics at night, but here is a knife my dad made for me. He only ever made 2 knives. One for me and one for my brother. There are more refined knives out there, but this one sure is gorgeous to me. I love Damascus blades and the tang is 1/4" thick so it will last forever.

That's a proper tool. Looks like you could break rocks with the backside of it!
I was going to say that if it's dull you could always club someone with it.

Para 3 Salt in Magnacut. This will be a birthday present for a friend of nearly 40 years. He's turning 70, but is still very active outdoors skiing, fishing, camping. He only buys cheap knives because he is afraid of losing them, which has actually happened. I think he may pay more attention now because this one ain't cheap.
They certainly seem to be, though I don't know anyone that carries one. Actually, I don't know that many people carry a pocket knife at all these days. I had always liked the more traditional multi-tools, so when the Skeletool first came out I thought it was a silly looking thing, and couldn't see why anyone would want one. A decade or so later I found myself collecting every kind Leatherman tool and bought one cheap on a whim to see what the fuss was about, and now it lives in amy pocket every day. I still think it's a weird looking thing, but useful.

Knife laws tend to be stricter in cities, and New England is rife with metropolitan and cosmopolitan cities.
Here in Kentucky and among friends in Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida, a pocket knife is an ubiquitous tool.
This is very true. If you were to ask any of my children what Rule No.1 is, they’ll answer with “Always have a knife”. My boys follow this rule, my girls not so much.
With New Hampshire likely being the exception, that might very well be the case, though some other states have made a little progress. I just remember it being more ubiquitous in the past myself, but maybe as we get older it's just not a point of discussion anymore. It was with my dad, my uncles and myself but unfortunately there are less of them around now.

I actually had never handled a Hinderer until a couple weeks ago.
I had one pass through my hands that I got in trade, and it was sold off again just as quick.
I actually liked it (save for the orange scales) and wouldn't have minded keeping it, if not for the need of the money.
It was a Skinny XM24 Wharny in S45VN.

The action on the front flipper is superb. Actualy, everything about its feel is superb.
On the surface, this knife is a bit of an oddball when compared to my usual preferences. I don't typically do liner locks- but something about this (and many of Guys others) one just sung out to me. I'm happy with it.

Beautiful knife! Hard to find a wharncliffe blade on a tactical knife, and it's one of my favorite blade shapes. I'm a huge spearpoint fan, and it's harder and harder to find. Tactical = tanto these days.
And the funny thing is I paid to have my orange scales custom done for my ZT. I'm just a bit tired of black on everything, but I know there's olive and desert tan, too, and a zillion types of camo.
I just got this Okapi in the mail today, I ordered from Etsy a month ago. I've wanted to own one of these bad boys for a while, size wasn't mentioned in the posting so I wasn't expecting one this big. Too big for EDC but I'll probably get good use of it next mushroom season. The pipe is an H.I.S., first none estate briar I bought. It's my go to pipe for Lat blends.
After seeing everyone else's edc my old WDC and little buck knife/wire stripper/pipe reamer/pipe tamper is going to get me my man card pulled.
They're tools- as long as you don't use it for a pry bar or screwdriver, alls fair I say.
I got the Poggetti dialed in with my trusty Frog Lube (paste), and loosened the pivot a hair.
It is now drop shut smooth and oh so nice to play with. I think I'm going to give it a run through the stones today and get it hair popping.
Maybe my 7th or 8th CRK in the past 15 years.
I've had various iterations of the Sebenza, Inkosi, and Umnumzaan.
For me, I like the Inkosi the most.
This large Inkosi has the tanto blade in Magnacut, with glass blasted scales.
It's my first glass blasted CRK, and it's as beautiful in person as the pics indicate.
I've got a black DLC pocket clip coming from Ripps Garage for it.
I'm sending the blade to a modder to replace the (ugh) blue studs with custom zirconium ones.
To keep the gray/black motif running, I'm sending all the chrome hardware (pivot, body screws, standoff, pins) to another guy to have them Cerakote finished in "Graphite".
Aftermarket customization options for CRK aren't as plentiful as say.. Spyderco or Benchmade.. but they're out there if you dig deep enough.
I think it will be a unique looker when it's all finished!
Bought in person at Schwyz, Switzerland at the Victorinox store and museum. One of my EDC. And the right color for a University of Tennessee fan.
