@wetdottle I searched a bit all weekend, found no trace of a Nilakka for sale. One will turn up eventually, they all do.
It’s just a glorious blade all around!
This one would be hard if not impossible to find a substitute for.
The design itself was released a little over 2 years ago I believe. There are various handle material/design, as well as blade grind combinations.
I've not seen another just like mine. Actually, I think each one is unique. I prefer simple and understated- plain Jane as they say- for my titanium frame locks.
That said, work carry today is pretty standard. The Sandrin and the Trentin.

I've had a couple Heretics, a couple Guardian Tacticals, and various side autos over the years, but never actually owned a Microtech. Every couple years I get the hankering for one but it never lasts long. I think they sorta feel like a one trick pony. The OTF action is cool, but that's all it does.
Some people lovem though. They're damn popular for sure.

I got a new CKF.. the Brat (Bratislava). I typically avoid liner locks but loved the look of this one so I figured I'd try it out. No regerts- it's awesome. Loved the way the back end comes together with no standoff or backspacer.

Had to try one of these Rosecraft Blades slipjoints. TN in design CN in manufacture. Danged impressive construction and fit/finish for not a whole lot of dollar.

That is an unknown brand to me. It looks great and I think I have to check it out for myself. Thanks for posting.

@bluegrassbrian I think the Nilakka is too fragile to be be a really useful EDC knife, but it looks good for those days when you're surrounded by daffodils, if you get my drift ;)

Lately, I've been carrying this custom swayback jack from Hans Weinemueller. I like traditional designs with modern flare, such as slipjoints with screws and stag like this one.

New fixed blade commission.. Nice guy knife maker, David Mary, from Canada is a pleasure to work with. Commissioning a knife is much like commissioning a pipe.
This is his "Sirupetite" model. A smaller, low profile offshoot of the Himalayan sirupate knife.
AEB-L at 62HRC. It sports a new material from RockSolidScales called Grip-Tec for the scales. Liners and pins are fashioned from natural Micarta. To me, with his contouring work, it resembles a pickle! I'm going to test it out at work today.

Dude,
Those scales are absolutely stunning! The blade reminds me of a modified Canadian Skinner.
I love every aspect of that knife 👏

I have a few DM kitchen knives and small fixed blades. Agreed on working with him. Super nice hard worker

This is my EDC, it's a cheap $9 Tac-Force knife from Amazon.

It is surprisingly very well made and has held up to a lot of abuse. I've used these for well over ten years and they are great.

I used the first one for a few years and had to give it up at a security checkpoint, so I bought 5 more in case that happens again.

The roll cake is my everyday morning smoke, I have two pounds jarred and refill the tin. Plus, one of a few cheap Grabow pipes I use for dog walking.

While this late 1970s Randall Alaskan Skinner has skinned a moose, it’s more often used to slice my pressed tobacco. The thick blade is hollow ground almost like a straight razor and is easy to keep scary sharp, perfect for slicing without crumbling the plugs. It’s not a fancy knife but it’s about as perfectly designed for slicing as a knife can be. I prefer it to my filleting knifes for cleaning salmon. The cutting board was made by one of my kids as a school project years ago. It only gets used for fruit (and my tobacco); no garlic and onion cross-contamination with my aromatics!

That’s right there are 2 Dalibor knife makers. Both from Croatia I believe. One makes spendy folders the other simple and amazing fixed blades

Ahhh ok. Not sure if I remember seeing this Dal's work. I peruse the Knifemakers "For Sale" threads on BF just about daily. I definitely love 52100 as a working steel.

I've got a Loveless style NY Special by Alex Eisenberg (RP Knives) coming very soon via a trade, and another Rafael Trentin puukko (to match my existing puukko by him), but this one will be in green Micarta and 52100.

RP Knives New York Special in 52100 w/dyed rock maple scales. The clip is sharpened... wicked!
