Just finished cleaning and polishing a Comoy's Extraordinaire. Don't know where this would fit in the Comoy's hierarchy. Dereck Green says the name Extraordinaire was given to any pipe that was out of the ordinary in size or grain. The seller called this a large apple shape but in Comoy's number list it is called a globe shape. It has the 3 piece C and the round" Made in London England" so probably from the sixties. Nice large piece of briar! Don't know whether I'll keep it or pass it on. Thanks, HoppesView attachment 27118

Among my Comoy's I have a "Gilded Grain" shape 368 which I bought back in the 70's. I have never seen much information on that particular model but it is one of my best smokers.

Does anyone have any information on where this might have fit in Comoy's line?

I picked up another Comoy's shape 284. I've had a number of shape 284's before, in 2nd lines and one Tradition. This one has the thickest shank of any of that previous group, sort of like a mini 499. I got this in a group of Comoy's and had intended to re-sell it. I currently have it listed for a stupid price on Ebay, so lets see how anxious someone is for a 284. Until then, it stays on my rack (and smokes great!)
