Here's my collection (so far). A Pete, a couple of Rossis, a Royal Meerschaum, three MM cobs, a Savinelli, a Commodore, Ropp, Wally Frank "Oliphant", a fe.ro churchwarden, a Falcon (w\ Rusticated Dublin bowl), a Calabash style pipe from The Smoking Briar, a Dorchester, a Dr. Grabow (what N.C. piper doesn't have at least one of these, since they're made in Sparta, N.C.), unbranded Billiard and a Calabash, and an old clay pipe from the 1670's.

I’m posting some pictures of new pipes (first pipes) as a result of a question I posted in the “Beginner” forum on selecting your first pipe. It is important to know that I have been smoking cigars for about 5 years.

This is what I call my “Beginners First Pipe Collection”.
The first picture is the entire collection. Pictures 2-6 are MM cobs, one straight, one bent and another straight stem with what I believe is referred to as a thimble shape but correct me if I’m wrong.

Then there is a Graco St Claude Provence bent billiard with a lucite stem. Next is a Savinelli Regimental poker with a lucite stem. This is one of those I have to get this pipe. It will be that last one I smoke before I gain experience with the cobs.
The last picture is of 2 Aldo Velani pipes. A Velani Series R straight apple with a vulcanite stem and a bent acorn ( correct me if I’m wrong on the shape) with a vulcanite stem.
I have not smoked the pipes yet but will be starting with one of the cobs tomorrow. I think there is more than enough here to keep me busy and I spent less money than I would have on a cigar order.

I just joined the forum a few days ago and explained that I took my pipes and tobacco out of storage after 13 years. I just wanted to share the collection that I amassed in 2007 and 2008.

Top: all basket pipes.
2nd row: Dr Grabow, Me Brog, Savoy, Savoy
3rd row: Boswell, Castillo, Big Ben, GBD
4th row: Long John (don't know much about this one,) Missouri Meerschaum
5th row: all Peterson's

It's a very modest collection full of inexpensive pipes, but you have to start somewhere!

Most of my pipes, minus the ones I'm working on up on the pipe room/office. And yes, they are exposed to light, though both sides of the glass have been treated with UV blocker, the stems with Obsidian Oil, oh and plus.... I don't care! I like to see my pipes! Every time I walk by, I go take a gander, weighing which one I'll smoke next, taking one out to again admire the lines or grain, remembering how much elbow grease it took to clean the Czech author (and it still smells of beetle legs and bat guano), etc. I enjoy each of them, and I'm glad to be in the company of others who do as well. Happy New Year!

Pictures of my pipe collection below, an eclectic grouping of 130 or so briars from Denmark, England, Italy, Germany, the US and other countries plus a couple of Meerschaums, in various shapes, sizes and finishes. My pipes range from mid-grades from such makers as Stanwell, Nording, Peterson, W.O. Larsen and Savinelli to older Charatans, Dunhills and Barlings and high-grades from Bang, Eltang, Teddy, Balleby, Hedegaard, Former, Barbi, Matzhold. Castello, Von Erck and Tao to name a few.
