I think the smooth is terrific and I've never been excited about the black sandblasts. Even signing up early in the morning I missed out on being among the first 40 by a long ways and am relegated to the black sandblast, which I'll be passing on now I've had a few days to think about it. Too bad Peterson wouldn't allow more than 40 - IMO the whole run should have been the smooth, but . . . they didn't consult me!
The smooth is very nice. I like the black sandblast as I don't feel bad about smoking them.
Finally snagged a Pete rack.
Smokingpipes’ estate sale got me, you guys. I’ve long been an admirer of the 264 shape in certain finishes, and I think the Deluxe Classic Terracotta line is a damn nice one. Pretty much pristine for $108, when normal list price is $192. SOLD!

I was not a fan of Peterson's SPD 2024 when they were released but SP estate sale sealed the deal for me.

I snagged the silvercap of SP.com estates. The others I bought from a guy in TX and occasionally he buys from me as well. He's got an ebay store you can check out. Occasionally he gets some crazy pipes and some of these are from his personal collection as well.
I'm heading to Ireland in 13 days and plan on hitting the shops that sell Peterson around the island. If anyone has a pipe they are wanting send me a list of what it is and what your budget is. I'll gladly grab them and ship them to you when I get back to the states.
Just received my 2024 Xmas from GQ tobacco.
When I first picked it up and attempted to pull the stem free, the stem came out but the copper spigot part stayed. Is this normal?

I'm sad to say I've recently had a similar (shoddy craftsmanship?) with a different model of brand new Peterson recently.
I was going to ask if just some simple super (CA) glue would be appropriate to do my own repair....
On my pipe it was the ferrule came off just like that, you can see where the glue appeared to only be on a portion of the circumference between the two surfaces....................
