Ok, wasn't sure. I'd have to look at the description on my glue bottles. But it would def be a bit "thicker" under there.
The ferrule came off my Aran 68 Irish Army after 30+ years. It looked like a clear crazy glue. I just cleaned it and used crazy glue and put it back on. I'll let you know in another 30 yrs how it worked
I really like the overall "cosmetics" on that one...
As a Peterson collector I am glad that someone is speaking out.
I have had a few Petes across different lines where the silver band suddenly becomes loose when attempting to polish it with a jewelers cloth.

I freaking love the 2015 St Patty's day line so I was very excited when it came up for sale. Luckily someone tipped me off otherwise I might have missed it.

Here's my Peterson's 9BC sub-collection. The stampings are as follows: left column, top to bottom: Sterling, Dublin & London, Dublin & London, Shamrock. Right column, top to bottom: Sterling, Sterling, Deluxe, Supreme. Bottom: Kapruf. There are no POY's in this group. All the older ("genuine") 9BC's. Do I need more? No. Do I want more? Of course I do!

It's been a fruitful pipe hunting trip across the Emerald isles gents. I'll take good pics when I get home. The 69 and 406 did not have stems for them. I went to the Peterson Factory today and they were nice enough to make me new stems while I toured the factory, and put one hell of a new finish on the bowls for me.

While not super special examples, a more than gracious member turned me on to these three: a Kapet XL81S, a System Standard 313, and a Rocky Donegal 101.

@Speak Easy In doing some research on one of my pipes I read the following in the link at the end which I think dates your pipe to the 1945 ~ 1947 time frame.
The “Made in Ireland” block format (above) can be another headache in dating Peterson pipes since this stamp was used in the late Patent Era as well as the late 1940s. So for a guide we must take into consideration the style of lettering Peterson used on their pipes. From the start of the Patent Era until somewhere in the early 1930s, Peterson used the “Old Style” lettering that used a forked tail “P” in Peterson.
From then until now, Peterson used the more familiar script “P” (above) intermixed with a plain block letter “P.” Later in the 1970s, Peterson began production of “commemorative” pipes, often referred to as “replica” or “retro” pipes and these will also have the old style lettering but according to the pipes that we own and have seen, most of these will have a small difference in the original forked tail “P”. Again, there appears to be a cross-over with the old style forked tail and the later forked tail P’s(below). However, these commemorative pipes generally have a silver band with hallmarks so one can date these pipes by the hallmark.

After a little searching and closer scrutiny of the uneven/slightly worn stamping on the base of the Donegal Rocky, it’s a 701 (no wonder I couldn’t find anything on a 101 anything like it
).As to the Kapet, there’s not much info out there I can find on the XL81S. Interesting stamping though.
My 7 day trip around Ireland was very fruitful for Peterson hunting. I picked up two from the antique collection, 1908 and 1904, one from the writer collection, Shaw, two from the great explorers collection, Scott and Amundsen, three Sherlock Meers, did not come cheap and have already sold the Squire to another Pete Geek, a Silver cap which is being dropped of to Mark Irwin next week, an Irish second and a 2024 Dracula from the Peterson Store.
