That’s a 1923 - O1 System 0 - (System 0 are the Premier line from the Pre-Republic days.)

I purchased the pipe from a seller in England who I purchased from before. He hit me up through a different pipe listing. I actually was shocked how low he sold it for so I bumped up the price.

This Dracula 221 was my first Peterson and it was so bad, it should have shut the door on any more. Within a couple of weeks, the briar had shrunk so much that the stem wiggled and, in fact, the bowl frequently fell off as I smoked. It's consequently very dinked. It gurgled like a drain from start to finish, it leaked, it was like an old steam engine due the cutter's torch - and eventually, I abandoned it.

I was contemplating disposal in the bin the other day but took a notion to check the current prices. Well, about €130 on the Peterson site. One last chance then. I redrilled the draught hole and flared it. Then I wrapped a layer of PTFE thread tape round the tenon and scraped the chamber. Then I loaded it with Brown Clunee and tested it. Oh, this is much better. Much, much better. Then I tried Cabbie's. Oh, it can handle Cabbie's when so many other pipes can't, well this is good. So now, definitely a keeper. A close shave.
