That's some serious ring grain! Nice grab! As a Pete fanatic and a sucker for a nice sandblast I love seeing their blasts improving over the past few years.
I've got a 69 PSB coming too that I'll post when it arrives. It looked very impressive from the pictures. With the right piece of briar, Peterson can sandblast like the best of them right now.

I've been trying to keep an eye out for a PSB that I can't say no to. Looking forward to seeing yours, they've all been impressive from what I've seen but I just haven't found one in a shape that speaks to me yet.

As I’m new to the pipe life, I’ve fallen in love with Petersons, just beginning to branch out, and I’m looking to get some Barlings, but for now these are a different array of some Pete models.IMG_5846.jpegThese in the case are Sherlock Series Models inside a case that has Sherlock Holmes on the front of it. I have 8/14 of the series, and the case holds 16. My goal is to complete the set and in the extra 2 spots I’ll have a Heritage 309 system in honor of what Basil Rathbone smoked as Sherlock, and if I can find one, a 155 bulldog in honor of what Nigel Bruce smoked as Watson in those movies. IMG_5829.jpegAnd lastly, this beauty that came in just today. 106 PSB.

Where are ya'll finding these natural blast Sherlock Holmes'?
The natural blasted Pete's are very much on the rare side, unfortunately. Your best bet is to be quick on the draw when they have a Barley finish release, or luckier yet, a supreme sometimes, but very rarely will drop somewhere. Over the years I've seen them on many different pipe sites, but they disappear VERY fast

I have a Barley Deluxe System. I love unstained and unwaxed pipes. It's nice watching them patina naturally. But I've never seen one in the Sherlock line. Now, being a Peterson nut, I feel I must have one lol!

I have a Pete P-Lip Poker in my near future. I am struggling between the Specialty PSB Tankard and a Silver Mounted Kildare 701. The PSB are purportedly the cream of the crop of sandblasted pipes. Gimmick?

With the PSB blasts, you will find some gems for sure, but also some "Meh" blasts. I would check out the fresh PSBs on new pipe drop days. Having said that, blast beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and as long as you admire the pipe you're looking at, go for it! I love that tankard shape too, they are very nice looking pipes
