A few weeks ago I was wondering, "Wait, how long have I been here?" and rather than check the date of my account creation like a clever person would do, I said "Ah, I recall one of my first posts was showing off my meer. When did I do that? ...Almost exactly two years ago?"
So I set a reminder on my calendar to come back today, and post a "Two Years Later" of this pipe.
An Ali claw I’ve had sitting around for quite a while; I nearly forgot about it. Have been waiting for a reason to pull it out, and it seems today is the day. I usually only handle meerschaum pipes by the stem, but with this mammoth, I’ll be holding it by the bowl from day one. This I do not mind, and it’s good to have a reference piece or two for differences in coloration between handled and untouched.
Here is something new that I have added to the Condor rotation after it has recently undergone the most amazing case and cheroot holder restoration by an amazingly talented forum member.
No fancy figurine carving, but this one is on the way. Should be here mid-weekish... Can't wait to try it.
Just wanted to add that the picture does not do this pipe justice. The carving is deeper and more 3D than the picture can display. It smokes nice too and the flavor from the initial bowl is more intense than what I got from my filtered briars. At least for the moment, I am much pleased with my purchase.
They all do a pretty decent job. The IMP is a very unusual shape which I love.
When a 139 comes up for 100 and change might as well. Always like this shape, there is another one out there for a little more, smooth pipe but i like the looks of this one.
Can anyone here give me a lead for where to find a straight, short (~5") meer that takes a 9mm filter?
