Thanks ejames. An Eldorado and Sculptura are both on my acquisition wish list.
Is it easy to tell which blasting method was used by the way it looks? The pipe hasn't arrived yet, but here's the seller picture:

"Found in abandoned storage". Another sad pipe story! :crying: It will have a good home now.

I can't really say, even though I have somewhere around 15-18 Commodores and Sculpturas. I've never really looked at them to see if there was any with a "different" blast.

My blasted Commodore came in a few days ago and I've had time to give it a cleaning. It's an adjustomatic with a scoop-shaped stinger in near new condition.

I saw a Dr Grabow pipe listed on eBay as a "Color Viscount". I'm not really interested in the Color line (from the 70s as I recall) and started to move on. However I saw the aluminium stinger which seems to me would push the date of manufacture back at least another ten years. So I made a low bid and won. Other than a little yellowing from age, the pipe is in like new condition. I'll clean it up a bit this weekend.

A light buffing with white diamond will make that pipe a bright white again. The paint on the Grabow "Color" pipes is quite hard. I've lightly wet sanded them with 800-1000 grit and then buffed to make them shine like a new penny.
Dave, what's with that Westbrook 81 on your display card. It looks small and for some reason the shape doesn't look quite right. I've seen some that were smaller than normal. Could be the angle at which the pic was taken.

Nice score tuold. NOS are getting harder to find.
@ed, I thought the same thing. I bought it from Sean already refurbed. There isn't a shape #. It's stamped Westbrook left side. Ajustomatic imported briar with pat. # on right side.

It was an embarrassment of riches last week for Dr Grabow pipes. I'd been wanting one of those nifty wire carved, hatchet shaped Starfires for a long time and finally won one. I think I'm going to like this one.

Nice Starfire tuold! Since you seem to like the Grabow Continentals here's a chart--in case you don't have it--that shows all of the Continental shapes that were available.

Thanks ejames! I copied the chart. Now I can add all those pipes and their variations to my want list!
You're welcome ! The 25 is the rarest of those shapes. Seems to be more Starfire Continentals out there than the other lines.
