Sold by J.J.Fox, no less.
Definitely makes me curious about its provenance.
It was among a large estate lot of mostly Dunhills, Peterson, Sasieni, and Charatan from the 40s up through the 60s. I know the original owner is quite old at this point - late 80s at least. Surely he didn't purchase all of them new.
Best part about it is there's even more pipes to come - even better to come he says.

What era is this one? Full disclosure I’m trying to get enough correct info to eventually sell it. It was with a bunch of pipes from the 80s and had a price tag of $35 on it from the store, but I cleaned it off.

Maybe not the right thread, it’s not mine but at a shop near me, but has anyone seen anything like this before?

Apparently late 1800’s Barling made from a crab claw? Thoughts?

Edit: looks like maybe 1910 from the hallmarks. Not really my cup of tea but quite unusual I thought.
