Hell, smartphones were just invented in 1994. I'm waiting till they get all of the kinks worked out... and to see if they stick around before I get one. puffy

The Beatles barely lasted 10 years, and people think they're such a big deal. Hell, Nickleback has outlasted them and recorded way more albums... and no one likes them.
My wife likes Nickleback! Huge Beatles fan here - haha, they were and still are a big deal, but no need for an exposition! From the time they exploded until about 1977, IMO, what an explosion of all sorts of different music and influences - I can find something I like in just about all of it.

The best jokes are the ones that the majority of people “get,” and some have to have it explained.

I like the Beatles. Don’t really care for Nickleback though.
Nickleback is one of those bands....
You can't argue that Chad Kroeger has a pretty bad-ass rock voice. The sound is pretty rockin' as well. As far as rock bands go, they are pretty solid. However, their music is not "complex" like bands such as Tool or Coheed & Cambria.

They are kind of the "meat and potatoes" of rock. A good band with the right rock elements (like AC/DC).

I’d just start aging, I started in 2009 and now I’m worried about all my blends getting too much age on them, time flies and you’ll have aged blends before ya know it. I think it’s more rewarding when you open a blend that you bought and aged yourself. Plus you know it’s been stored properly and all that good stuff. But the decision is yours, if you feel it’s worth it than by all means go buy some aged stuff. From time to time you may find a winner but the majority of times I think you will just end up sorely disappointed.
I’m new to this also and I wanted to try all the aged tobacco’s and I have been disappointed in more than not so I agree but what you like and age it yourself

I decided, after buying a few tins that turned to be disappointing, to be patient and do my own aging. This way I retain control of where the tins are, what they are/are not exposed to, etc.
So far, opening tins that are 10 years +, so good. puffy

Interesting you mention Tool & Coheed & Cambria in the same sentence. I get it and I like both… well, new Coheed not so much. In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth was brilliant and they are both proggy, Codeed just went a different direction that I’m not too fond of. Personally, I think their last great album was Good Apollo…

Tool on the other hand, they are as good as it gets, it’s not likely we will see other bands with the magic that these 4 have when playing together, their chemistry is amazing. They are one of the only bands that I like more as an adult than I did when I was a 12 year old kid jamming Undertow and I loved them then too. When they released Ænema, my adolescent mind was blown away, they changed the game and they’ve been throwing out masterpieces with every release. We’ve had bands like this before their time, ie; Pink Floyd, King Crimson & Led Zeppelin to name a few but I’m skeptical that we’ll see another great like Tool. I blame the streaming services, they killed the album as a whole, you have the access to all the music in the world in your pocket, no one has time to digest complex music like this anymore and kids aren’t listening to albums, so where’s the inspiration?

Not to say there isn’t good music coming out these days, there certainly is, I’m just worried about generation Alpha (I think that’s what they are calling it?).

I have an eclectic taste in music, I am also a big fan of Ween, Mr. Bungle and all that weird, trippy shit.

Such an underrated band! What blows me away about Ween is not so much the genre-hopping and experimentation, but the absolute mastery of the craft. It's not just about pushing boundaries but they also unironically wrote some ridiculously catchy and beautiful pop songs.
Absolutely! They could have fun, be goofy as shit but they were still amazing songwriters. Have you checked out the Freeman album? He’s released two solo’s both are good but the Freeman album is the closest to the Ween sound. It’s an excellent album!

Usually a mod closes a thread when it gets to this point, but they probably are enjoying the current discussion.
I was - of course, I didn't expect @cosmicfolklore to suggest I'm too witless to get his sarcasm but not the most recent time I've been so accused, haha! Nothing good happens when Nickleback enters a conversation, lol. Like many threads . . . .

So....@Sablebrush52, do you buy aged tobacco, or age it yourself?
99% aged it myself. I have bought a few vintage tins, mostly from before the current secondary market sprang up, when "old" tobacco went for less money than new. And I have bought a few aged tins of something I didn't have with sufficient age.
Overall I've found the experience to be rather hit or miss, and have decided that I'm not buying more, at least for now.

I haven't bought any aged tins, and have been cellaring fairly heavily. I am newer to experimenting with tobacco and cellaring, so my oldest is only about 1 year now. I got a ways to go, but I am patient as I continue to experiment with different blends.

It is good to hear your perspective - thanks.
