Until they quit working. A flint is much easier to replace. The piezo ignition & plastic frame make these a waste of a brass tank, imho.

The brass tank would probably be last on my list of concerns for a Pipemaster, because in general metal gas tanks are reliable, but the piezo & plastic told me enough to know not to bother anyway.@EA-6B Both IM Coronas I've had that failed seem to be tank issues...

The electric spark. Piezo lighters notoriously malfunction. The brass tank would probably be last on my list of concerns for a Pipemaster, because in general metal gas tanks are reliable, but the piezo & plastic told me enough to know not to bother anyway.

Exactly, so it's a waste of a brass tank to equip one with things like a piezo ignition or a plastic frame. =)The electric spark. Piezo lighters notoriously malfunction.

Preach! Mines 4+ years old and going strong.I have 2 Pipemasters and 2 Kiribi. If you use the high altitude Butane in the Pipemaster, it works pretty decent. Mine are probably around 2 years old. If i buy another pipe lighter, it would probably be a 3rd Kiribi. Great value for the money, I'm okay with replacing the occasional flint. The Pipemaster uses a piezo electric crystal for the spark, no flint.
