But, seriously, Michael, I bet all those pipes are now smoking fine, and in fact suffered little, if any. Yes?
As you know, I rinse through the bowl with hot water, and towel dry. Neither the bowl or airway absorb any moisture. They'd have to soak for a long time to do that. Sometimes I fire it up just after such a cleaning, and there's no problem with moisture.

Ah, young grasshopper!! When I was 18, I knew everything. Now into my 8th decade, I am expanding my knowledge of what I don't know. (Just quantifying what I don't know, not expanding knowledge so much.)

FWIW, I've started cleaning my "new" estate pipes with warm water and a few drops of unscented detergent. Works great. It isn't quite as amusing as the rest of this thread, though.
