Hello everyone, I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words. The last few years without my Dad has not been easy. But from time to time I come back to this forum and read all your comments about Harris. It really means alot to his kids to hear stories about our father. Please continue to tell your stories here because we do read them. Thank you from our entire family!

As many of your knew Harris was a collector of tobacco. Anyone interested in learning more about his collection please email me at gabbie.englander@gmail.com. If I do not respond right away it’s because I work very long hours and usually do not get to my personal emails till the weekend, but I will respond to you!

I do miss Harris. His hilarious “fights” with Peck were a highlight of my day.
When Harris got interested in Wilmer pipes I resurrected their site for him for him, via the Internet Archive Wayback machine so that he could see their gradings.
I also had the pleasure of chatting with him over the phone.
Quite an amazing guy!

I ended up with a couple of Wilmers because Harris was so effusive about their quality.
Then he sold every one of his Wilmers because their acrylic stems did not agree with his chompers.
A contrary guy.

I looked forward to his posts every day

I’m terribly sorry for anyone who knew this man and called him a friend. He sounds like such a cool feller that I’m just as saddened I didn’t join this site early enough to have gotten to know the man as I am by his passing. I’m sure he will be sorely missed and I pray the good lord give all of you who knew him the strength and solace needed in a time like this. Especially his close friends and family. i always hate reading threads like this but I’m glad I had the opportunity to. Thanks for posting hoosierpipeguy. 🙏

I was thinking of Harris this past week. I never found him abrasive as I enjoyed how he spoke his mind. I think he was often a bit abrasive here to "bust balls". Harris was a great friend and I miss our regular get togethers here in Sarasota. He provided more laughs for me than any other person I've ever met.

I will tell a Harris story. Around 20 years ago, we met up with 2 other Cigar Family friends to attend a herf in Rockford. After partying rather heavily the previous night, we were wolfing down breakfast at an IHOP when this moron manager came over, interrupted us and started trying to be funny by telling really lame jokes. Harris never looked up, just kept eating, After about a minute of the stupidity, again, without looking up, Harris said "Get the Fuck out of here". The delivery was priceless, I spit a mouthful of pancake out on my plate. Vintage Harris.

I was gone from the forum for so long I wouldn't have known had this not been bumped. It's always a sad day when we hear of the passing of a fellow member of this forum. My condolences to the family, first and foremost, but I know some of the members knew him personally, so my condolences to you as well.
