I will say right off the bat, I'm not looking for aromatics. But what tobacco comes to mind when you think of rich, smooth, oily and satisfying? The kind of satisfying after the perfect meal. You could eat more or even go for something sweet, but in that moment you're content. I've been enjoying Virginia blends more, but I almost feel like there's some depth missing that maybe would come through in a Virginia plug.

I love to go to cigar blends, specifically GL Pease Robusto and Key Largo when I want something smooth, but robust and satisfying.

Heavier Burley and Kentucky tobacco is also quite satisfying, though I find it less complex, blend depending, than the two blends I mentioned earlier. Some of my favorites in this category are HH Bold Kentucky, HH Old dark Fired, and Peterson Irish Flake.

Straight Virginia sings a high note.

Burley offers a complimentary bass note.

The mouth feel that creamy depth you speak of is burley.

In a recent thread I recommended CD Winchester - it may be just the blend you seek. Mature Red Virginia complimented by unsweetened, black Cavendish. The result is a wine like sweetness with depth and an occasional cigar note. This is one of CD’s earliest blends and a real sleeper. A must try.

American or German Virginias will not satisfy, McClelland being the only exception. What you need are British-made tobaccos manufactured from predominantly African-sourced Virginias. I no longer enjoy thin Virginias without body, except perhaps in the very early morning, so I smoke predominantly UK-made tobaccos.

The new Suttlif Rustica No.5 is pretty incredible to me not aromatic but has a tinge of bourbon, full in rich flavor with a big nic hit

A few that come to mind, the already mentioned Peterson Irish Flake and their 3-P and Nightcap.. C&D bulk blends like Stratfordshire, Tuggle Hall, Billy Budd, Bayou Night (and the milder Mountain Camp with the same tobaccos). Toggle Hall is an interesting burley-based English.
