Impressions on the Dark Flake?

A few blends. All new to me. In the year since I took up the pipe, my tastes have progressed from Latakia/English Blends, to VaPers, and now to Burley, although I regularly smoke blends from all categories now (as this order reflects!). Looking forward to trying these.

Also, a shout-out to sp.com. For a lot of companies, including one prominent one that has been mentioned on these boards (haha), the "free" shipping option gets you sloooow shipping, especially cross-country, whereas SP.com gives you usps priority, and I'll have my order in 48 hrs from SC to southern AZ.

Impressions on the Dark Flake?

Sweet, bready...really enjoying the retrohale on this one.. has a muted perique flavor yet at times its strong. Like a baby’s bottom...smooth yet sometimes explosive. Very smooth, spicy.

I like how the perique is there but not in yoyr face. Then on the retrohale,depending on how much you draw, it can be quite strong when I want it to be.

So close to my recents. I found the Mac Baren Scottish Mixture satisfying, sweet, and comforting. The Edward G Robinson seemed right up my alley but set my mouth on fire on the light, so I suspect a body chemistry mismatch.

Also got a BC bent bulldog. So far I love it, although the stem needs loosening a bit.

That Mac Baren Scottish mixture really is a sleeper for me.

Visiting family in Colorado, hit a couple of strip mall tobacco/vape stores and found some tins.

Picked up Peterson 3Ps, Mac Baren Vanilla Flake, and Lane Partagas. Also grabbed two boxes of good ol’ Carter Hall.

That really is a great thing about this this habit/hobby, you can get some good deals on nice stuff. Much more affordable than cigars.

I've been just chipping away for the last two years and have amassed a decent cellar, most at or under $3 per ounce. Be patient and strategic and you shall prevail.

For Recent TAD, I just caved to the hype and got two cans each of the SP XX Flakes, as well as a tin of Lakeland Dark and 8 ounces of GH&CO Scotch Mixture.
