Rain - Love or Hate?

I love rain because without rain life would be harder. Farmers can't grow crops without rain. Lakes and bayous would dry up so no fishing.

I wish I could remember the movie. But some movie I watched years ago had a scene where an old man is walking in the rain and a young couple passes and they're complaining about the rain. The old man mutters something about how they must not like trees. Yeah rain is essential. When people get too into complaining about the rain, I think what a great illustration of how self centered and small minded people can be.

I like the rain during the nine months of summer we have in South Louisiana. Most times the temperature drops 20 degrees or so and it cool enough to sit on the porch and have a pipe. The bad news is once the rain is over the temperature and humidity jumps back up.

Sounds like the summer here.

On the other hand, I hate rain when it comes in the form of a hurricane.

To everything there is a season! We recently planted several hundred trees for a forestry project. The first year is crucial for survival. 1 inch per week is the minimum goal.

Rain. What’s that? I haven’t seen rain in I don’t know how many years.

Got a fair amount yesterday evening and really needed it! Also, the cloudy, rainy skies in the evening make the photos pop with color and contrast. Of course, when the pup woke me up at 4:30 this morning I realized I'd forgotten to turn off the sprinkler system which was chugging away as programmed.

I like rain, especially if I have a sheltered place to sit outside and watch a nice steady, non-windy, rain, nothing like it.

Love the smell of summer rain and lightning. Winter rain sucks like a Hoover.

I enjoy rain and severe weather.
I live in the desert southwest and this is the time of year that our seasonal rain, the monsoons, begin. This is my favorite time of year. People come from all over the world to photograph our storms, mostly due to the spectacular lighting activity over the desert landscape.
This year is not starting out too well, so maybe we will have a light year and that will be a shame if so, we need the water.
