I've worn full beard and mustache from as soon as I could grow it.
After radiation therapy I had to go to wearing a goatee instead of a full beard.
I occasionally use beard oil but no wax. I just trim it a bit when it starts getting too unruly.

I am a long-time wet shaver and have a collection of brushes and shave soaps.

I tried a handlebar mustache several years ago. At the time I worked at a pizza place right at the oven. I quickly found 9 hours with my mustache in 120 degree heat blown aggressively across my stashe is too much for anything requiring any kind of product. I might have to try a style again this winter.
