Same, the interference with eating and drinking drives me nuts. I like eating cheeseburgers too much to tolerate it. I have a longish beard though.
Ah yes. Eating burgers with a large 'tache is a pain. I turn the burger over, so there's less chance of any sauces, grease, etc. getting mixed into my 'tache.

Weird mine just goes straight down. I assume you "train it " out like that?
Years and years of training will give you that. To start it off, try brushing it while it's wet.

I worry I didn't explain "wet". I'm talking water still dripping off of it. Like dunk your stache in the palm of your hand filled with water. Point that hair dryer (on cool) at your lip and brush the hairs the direction you want them to go. Repeat that for the other side. Do all this for like 2 weeks and your mustache should be pretty well trained. You'll still need wax/ glue/Thompson water sealer to keep the curls in the handlebars (or whatever shape you're going for). But the mustache hairs will already be heading that way. Look at Chasing Embers' pic again. The tips already want to go up, the rest already leaning out.

I can grow a beard, but my moustache game is weak. Men on my fathers side of the family (Punjabis) grow thick mustaches and I’d say it’s a 50/50 split between my cousins if they choose a western style, like your typical Victorian Era British Officer’s moustache, or a more South Asian style. All the men on my mother’s side of the family (of British and German descent) are all clean shaven in pictures, and maybe I got the inability to grow a nice moustache from them.

Holy Crap, you shaved the beauty of a beard off?

You had one hell of a beard, you should grow it back. :)

P.S. When did you shave it off? 🤔
Thank you for the compliments, much appreciated. 🤝

Yup, I shaved at the start of spring, actually a little earlier this year, mid April, I think it was, I usually keep it until around the start of May, at which point the winter plumage is shed.

I tend to grow it in the winter, as it's too darn cold to stand shaving in the morning, however my regimen has changed now, since I've begun shaving in the evening time now.

I may grow another this year, I'll see how it goes.

It's been years since I had this handlebar mustache but at this length the only thing which held it together was Got2B Glued. I applied a thick glob and styled it while I blowdried, at a certain point it turns into this completely rigid shell. Sucker felt like acrylic, practically. When it was shorter I was able to mostly get away with styling waxes, but in any kind of heat they just didn't have the strength to hold the tips together.
