While I don’t have any 507 to ferret out whether it’s the same or not… If you like these blends I would suggest trying some OGS.

I came tot his forum in the middle of the PGS wars, when people finally got the company to say that, yes, they put a trace amount of perique in their blends, but not enough to call it a VAPER. Hapf of everyone could taste absolutely NO perique in there, and half said that the perique was so strong it burned their sinuses… And there were others that said that they taste nothing, nothing at all from OGS.

Sounds like it shares an aesthetic with 507 and LNF. Ha ha. And some of us wouldn’t be surprised if it were the exact same thing as these two.
Yes, OGS is a good number.

I was a chef in an Italian restaurant many decades ago. The owners had four locations and all of the main ingredients were put together a a commissary that served all four locations. Each restaurant took those base ingredients and followed the same recipes to create all the dishes listed on the menu which was similar to each of the places. However, depending on the stove, the location, and even the water that was used, everyone swore that each of the restaurants followed a different recipe. They did not. The very restaurant site itself dictated some aspect of the taste.
Now I'm hungry. Can't even bother to think about comparing/contrasting tobaccos now... :ROFLMAO:

Now that really would surprise me. LNF = 507 I have no issue with, but LNF = 507 = OGS? I think the burned sinuses from OGS are a result of cheap Burley-like VAs. If anything, Perique would smooth that stuff out! 😄

Visuals aren't everything, and this isn't the greatest picture, but I can say that when I put the LNF into the jar with the 507c, the former was noticeably darker, but that may have just been difference in age since pressing, humidity, etc. Now, except for the length, they look indistinguishable to me:

I'm among those who assumed that 507c and LNF were different. They always tasted different to me (different enough that I thought that I much preferred 507c over LNF, although I didn't love either of them).

But if we're told from the top that they're the same, I'm happy to accept that and admit that I was mistaken.

I got confirmation that OGS is distinct. However, reading between the lines, when pressed on how different, suddenly the discussion was over. I believe it is close enough to be considered a minor variation.

Oh wow! I just made that comparison off the cuff. I didn’t imagine that it could actually be the same. I mean, I knew it struck my tastes as being just as weak in flavor, but I didn’t do any special comparisons to check.

Thanks Crash!

We all know you have a good ability to taste, so I am not shocked that you landed there on your own.

I honestly believe that everyone is capable of tasting deeper into blends. I came to this forum only tasting hot air, and I took the advice of other members to start to pull more flavors out.
It’s a brain thing. If unschooled in music, all modern music just sounds like terrible noise. Then as you learn more, you can start to pick out instruments, notes, chords… next thing you know, you can start to tell the difference between country and rock.
Same with tobaccos, wines, and such.

If one wants to learn, and puts in the effort.
