I also missed the initial thread.
There is no sorrow so deep as the illness and fear of your child's illness.
Thank goodness the surgery was successful.
Here's to a positive prognosis.

Thank you all for the continued prayers. It's been a nerve racking journey since the surgery but things continue to improve. The scariest moment came the morning after the operation but fortunately she continues to bounce back. It's hard watching a five year old have to rely on a feeding tube while she works her way up from puréed foods to solids all over again. The important thing is that she's with us and her doctors are happy with the progress. Counting the days till we can finally get out of ICU and closer to going home.
On another happy note, I've been able to slip out for a bit here and ther to run errands and sneak in a pipe here and there. A bowl of Durbar never tasted so good!

Praise God! I will say a decade for you guys at Mass today and light a candle. Also I have added a link for a Nebraska kid named Jack Hoffman who is seven and going through pediatric Brain cancer. They have an Organization that is supported by many Husker fans and current NFL RB Rex Burkhead.

Praise God, Mike. I hope your sweet young daughter recovers fully and this makes her stronger in her life as she encounters adversity. A warm hug goes to you and your wife and the gentlest of kisses to the little ones forehead.
Your friend,
Geoffry

I'm sure as a dad it's easy to feel helpless, Mike but progress comes in small steps. I hope the pathology reports bring good news soon!

Sorry for what you all are going through, but really glad to hear things are progressing well so far. By the grace of God may her recovery be a full and permanent one.

Thanks for the updates. I've been thinking of your daughter. While it sounds like it will be an uphill journey, keep in mind our prayers are still with you and your family.

I'm the father of a 2-month old, and I got chills as I read your original post :(
Very good to hear that it went well! Here's wishing that she recovers fully and quickly. I'll dedicate my next bowl to her :)

I have been absent myself and didn't see this thread. I couldn't imagine a more difficult thing to go through for a father and I am hopeful things continue to improve.

Hey Mike,

how's she doing, and the rest of you? What a terrible thing to go through. We went through some very bad childhood leukemia a few years back with our niece who thank God has gotten much better than when it came on, but it was a living nightmare for a while. Kids are so tough, they are amazing, and your daughter sounds like a strong little girl.

I will be praying for your daughter and your family.

I don't really do praying, but glad to hear the update and hope that warm, happy, fuzzy thoughts from Wales will do their bit to help you and yours through this.
