Those basses are insane. Love it. And the Chapman Stick is very cool!
Up next is a 1975 Univox Hi Flyer. I am pretty sure it's a stage 2 because of the toggle and original pick guard. I have since taken that coil pick-holder thing off and it's much smoother now. The sounds that come from this thing are crazy. I play it through a Vox AC15 which is really all you need with the P-90's in it. By the way the case is absolutely a piece of trash as you can see but it's hard to find a case that fits these, even a Jaguar case doesn't fit.

Here's my old Les Paul that thieves broke into my house to steal. It was sold to me new in 1983 as an '83 Limited Edition, but I think it might be a Special. The interesting thing about this photo is, the guitar has a round indentation exactly where I accidentally hit it with a 5B drumstick, and white stuff on the edge of the body as it faces you, just like mine. If anyone ever finds a Les Paul like this (2 P-90s, dots, and rare chrome hardware) with the serial number 71238088, please let me know.

Oh man I don't even want to think about how ridiculously cool that Les Paul probably sounded. I love that natural finish. They look like mini-P90's too, very different

Thanks adam! They're regular P-90s though; they are called 'soapbox' single coils, and come in white, too. And, yeah, it sounded AWESOME! I wish I knew who stole it, it broke my heart, and I'd like to do things to them.
PS So along with this dadgum site causing serious pipe and cellar envy, now I have to have guitar envy too? 1890!? Seriously? I like that Danelectro 12 string, too. You guys suck.

This is my current favorite guitar. It's an Eastman E10-OM and it is fantastic. I have had lots and lots of guitars over the years and this is the one for me. I recently sold all of my electrics, although I have some amps left (anyone interested in a vintage Fender Super Champ?)...

Okay, before I get started working for the day I snapped a couple photos. The electric is an Ibanez 6-string, the acoustic an Ovation Celebrity (ever since I found Al DiMeola I had to have an Ovation of some sort). The Big Bitch (Hurricane Katrina, as we lovingly refer to her) took an Ibanez 7-string and my Bruce Springsteen Edition Takamine away from me because I didn't have any room left in the escape car. :D :(

And here's more Chapman Stick! This is Liquid Tension Experiment (Tony Levin of King Crimson, Most of Dream Theater). Tony Levin is a master of the Chapman Stick. Yes, Levin is playing Bass and Second Lead at the same time for parts of the song.

That Ibanez has some crazy finish and inlay. I also like that green-burst on the acoustic. Ovation is totally underrated!
And Rick is that a custom color? I don't think I've ever seen that green/blue before

I love my Ibanez. I play all sorts of music, but I tend towards a lot of lead playing. I have tiny little paws for a guy my size, so the thin neck helps a bunch. And the Ovation plays like a dream.
If you all want to see something unique, here's a new product my friend from high school developed. We used to play together occasionally and, I have to say, he is truly an amazing guitarist. Had he chosen to play music instead of being a luthier, I'm certain he'd be in the magazines by now. He invented a new guitar neck design. I'll let the picture speak for itself. To date, it is the thinnest guitar neck ever crafted and patented.

That ultra-thin neck looks like some Yngwie Malmsteen 5000mph lead/classical scalloped-fret thing. Way too crazy!
And that Gretsch is just gorgeous man. I can hear some Howard Roberts leads just looking at it.

Strange that you say that, Adam. The maker in question is a huge Yngwie fan and the neck is in fact scalloped. I still haven't figured out how he did it.

Yeah there's no way in the world I would be able to play that thing, but a lead guitarist trained in classical traditions would leave it red hot for sure. The scallop technique is kind of scary to me because, I don't know, if you scallop an old Strat, aren't you ruining the wood? Some people swear by it.

The sad thing is I have spent the last hour browsing Drumcity Guitarland, Elderly, and eBay looking at Jazzmasters - SAY IT AIN'T SO!
Is it the rise of G.A.D.????

Well that Schecter is pretty supreme - I used to have a Schecter Ultra III and it was alright. The main problem is, Schecter never made a case for it so I only had a gig bag which stinks.

I never bothered keeping the bass in a bag or case. It's the one instrument I would be willing to use as a club and, for that, I need quick access!
