Another Soviet cartoon I grew up with was “Prostokvashino”


One more cartoon based on Swedish author’s (Astrid Lindgren) children’s book “Karlsson of the Roof”



And of course “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”

Forgive my ignorance, but this thread inspires me to ask if either of you incorporated any depictions of pipes/pipe smoking in your work. That is, before depictions of smoking in general became R rated.

Adding little bons bons into background and matte paintings is a time honored tradition. While I have on occasion added "unplanned" imagery into a BG I have yet to add a pipe. I'll have to do that if I find an opportunity.

Right idea, wrong film. I did portray some great figures from American history engaged in salacious activity in a mural that was part of a matte painting, but I was far more inventive than a peurile display of male genitalia.

I don't think pipes have been used in pictures or cartoons as "sexy" or "cool". I think they are usually in traditional settings like family or camping and such and I don't understand how that is a problem.

Again Lane’s 1-Q in MM Legend cob, as I am waiting for some new tobacco and another cob to come my way. Those TAD and PAD syndromes appear to be real and contagious.

Smoking is outlawed by every durn comic book company. You can imagine what I think about that.

but punching people is o.k.. And stabbing people with your hand knives is o.k. too. But not smoking. Those terrible skimpy costumes that all the ladies seem to wear that's fine even if it reminds you you're reading something along with 13 year olds that haven't realized that everything doesn't have to be titillating. Depictions of people smoking as in set on fire fine, people smoking tobacco not fine. Well it's almost like people just haven't figured out how not to be silly, maybe we'll grow out of that sometime in a few centuries.

yeah but he's also tripping balls too. He's seeing floating swordsmen, and by gum he's gonna find more of these crazy mushrooms.
