Pipe Smoker vs "Guy who Smokes a Pipe"

It's always fun when threads such as this divert to insurance. The number of members who readily admit to committing fraud is always a bit of a surprise. The old "looking out for number one" and damn the consequences. Yet most of them protest that they are honest folk. I love it.

Well so long as we are using the insurance industry as the benchmark for honesty, I think i can comfortably label myself as honest.

BTW, in my neighborhood I'm known as the "guy with a pipe". I've even had complete strangers (to me at least) spot me crossing a street without a pipe in hand and call out from their cars, "Hey! Where's your pipe?" I'll pull it out of my pocket, wave it at them, they'll honk their horn and give me a thumbs up.

Where does that place me in the hierarchy for pipe smoking?

Yep, same in my neighborhood. They even notice when I'm smoking a new one.

Hardly a benchmark! Itls simply one of many areas where people lie to save a buck or two. People tend to do all sorts of petty illegalities when it suits them, often rationalizing "everybody does it." That's simply not true. I do find it amusing, not shocking, when people admit to their aberrant behavior. It's als amusing to read about as it reinforces my cynical view of people.

Jesus, isn't language complicated enough with all this gender bender axle people are wrapping themselves around without parsing whether it's correct to refer to a tobacco addict as a pipe smoker or a person who smokes a pipe. Seriously, what is the benefit to all humankind by pushing this particular distinction?
And by the way, @JimInks smokes 16 to 20 pipes a day, which makes you a virgin.

OK, I think this thread was moribund out of the gate. I identify as tired and don't care about much else tonight. Sorry it took so long, but I was volunteering at the AT&T Pro-Am today.
