I gravitate towards shorter pipes of around 4“ - 5.25“, while also paying attention to the pipe’s weight and bend, as I like clenching the pipe while walking my dog (this is when I enjoy my smokes usually). Still trying to figure out the ideal ratio between the length, the weight and how pronounced the bend of the pipe is. That being said though, I do enjoy my longest pipe (~5.9”) - Nording freehand - on a rare occasion when I have some time to sit down and enjoy a pipe with a cup of tea or coffee.

All about the clench and if there‘s any bend , short straight poker is fine and a Canadian with a bit of bend at the end will clench better for me like a bings favorite…
