I’d have to agree with the drizzly autumn evening but not out walking in it. I’d have to say lounging on a couch on a screened porch overlooking the autumn landscape from up on a hill with some espresso and my wife not nagging me about it.
The walk for me is essential to avoid the nagging.

Any day I get to slow down and enjoy a pipe.
I can think of a few examples, but the most recent was sitting on my patio on a chilly, damp morning, smoking Bothy Flake.
Cool rainy morning, yard work done, no place to be, watching the fish and turtles in the pond, enjoying coffee and the pipe.
Beautiful sunny afternoon- it is 75 degrees and I am smoking a bowl in the backyard.

Get yourself a Thermocell for the skeeters. I use them during the early part of deer season, because I hunt on some creek bottoms where the mosquitoes will pick you up and tote you off if you don’t do something. Doesn’t make much of a smell, and it really works. They take about ten minutes or so to really clear them out, but they work.
I’ll second the Thermacell, works like magic. And Bladesmith, I’m pretty sure it’s odor free.

I agree with FurCoat; anytime I have with a pipe is heaven as I've slowed down enough to actually smoke one.
During the pandemic we're going through once week, I am having some cronies from the local pipe club get together on my screened in back porch. It's heaven, indeed.
