Beautiful pics! How old is that Balkan Sobranie?

...hard to say, usually the back of the tin has an address, my tin did not, so I'm speculating that it may have been a transition tin during the move?
Going by the insert address of 17 worship St., it dates to 1960-1968, and if it is indeed a transition tin, then it'd be '67 or '68.
Sometimes it's simply impossible to really know on a concrete date, the closest guess goes to certain periods.

Great. I have a Large Jar of Herbert Tareyton Smoking Mixture (seal intact ) from a Southwestern Ontario Tobacconist that went out of business in 1959. The owners nephew had kept some of the original contents of the store in his garage for many years until he decided to sell a couple of items.

I was lucky enough to get the Jar of Herbert Tareyton Tobacco along with a Mayflower Churchwarden Pipe in the original box, and a tin of Holiday Tobacco ( seal intact ). All of this is pre-1959. I also have a picture of the inside of the Tobacconist Store.

This may be a stupid question, but I've never had a tin that was more than 3 years old. The white stuff I'm seeing on some of these tobaccos, is it mold or some kind of crystallized sugar?

@petes03 I could be wrong but I think that's crystallization that happens on some Perique blends. Brian mentioned it in last night's episode. Not sure if it will happen with other non-aromatic blends as I typically only smoke aromatics.

@petes03 you beat me to the question. I have read about folks that cellar VA's that say this happens with age. I was going to ask if that was it lol.
