Yeah, that's a hot pipe. Those Canadians are pretty hot stuff too. And a slightly better price point.
Those are beautiful and I’ve always wanted a sandblasted spigot Peterson, but I just bought a couple of pricier (for me) pipes.
I almost bought a Canadian first, but I don't own a spigot, so I switched.Yeah, that's a hot pipe. Those Canadians are pretty hot stuff too. And a slightly better price point.
$180 is fine for their higher range stuff. $240 is artisan range. Petersons are nice, but they’re mass produced factory pipes. What price do you put on Peterson putting out good pipes?
It's perhaps a tad arbitrary but I agree. I'd say $200 cap on their higher end pipes. $180 is around what I paid for several higher end pipes I bought last year-house pipe, oak pub pipe, and walnut spigot.$180 is fine for their higher range stuff. $240 is artisan range. Yeah its industry wide. Started as a social media thing to sell stuff. Then moved into the cigar world...now making its way into the pipe world. Its a great way to sell to folks who 'don't want to miss out'.They seem to be doing the 'limited/special' trick with pipes that they have been doing with their short run tobacco.
Started way before social media. Anyone remember Bradford Exchange? They use to sell limited edition plates, figurines and all kinds of other crap. A limited edition numbered collector plate. Only 25,000 made for $39.95...twenty years later, garage sale for $1.00Yeah its industry wide. Started as a social media thing to sell stuff. Agreed in the sense that limited run has been around before even the internet. But the 'Limited production drops on -insert date-' is relatively new. It is absolutely a social media driven monster. Knife makers do it, smaller niche clothing companies, cigar people and now pipes/tobacco.Started way before social media. Anyone remember Bradford Exchange?
