If it's listed as 'Heritage' then it's not uncommon for it to have some smalls dings, fills or even pits. At least in my experience, I bought an XL11/Sherlock Holmes Original for the 2022 Christmas release and was a little disappointed with a few pits. Since then it's garnered even more dings and dents and maybe it's the copper but it all feels like it fits the pipe. Doesn't hurt that it's a $130 spigot rather than a $180+ one either.

I ended up caving last night and went with a 102 Heritage. I'm fairly confident I could find an X105 rusticated somewhere at least in the next couple weeks so if the 102 is disappointingly small then I'll send it back to SPC and go for the 105.

Still wish they hadn't been so miserly with the straight billiards this year. Used to be they'd have 103, 104, X105, 106 and even my beloved and oft forgotten 107. What's with that?
I'm guessing they're going to release the same things every year or two but have variety in the shapes they offer. Just a guess though.

Is this a complete list of the shapes released? I thought I saw some Tankard shape smooths. It's a shame they're only releasing such a limited range and number of the smooths, they're the only ones I'm keen on. But at that price I haven't made up my mind - some look great, some look like they have poor grain and some even look like they have small marks and dings.
You're right that there were Smooth 701 Smooth pipes and confirms that the list is incomplete. Now the question is: how incomplete is it?

There are 4 X105 rusticateds on SP EU.

Appreciate that, I'm not worried about well-done fills. My Rosslares (all a few years old) all have a couple of small fills. I'm more worried about pits and dings that haven't been filled.
To add onto what I said above specifically about the fills: The XL11 arrived in good condition but had a few fills, one of the fills on the left face did come out and now it's a little pit. You've also got to be careful polishing the copper on the mortise as there's the possibility of some voids and you can dent the metal with too much pressure.

Here's some pictures of what I'm talking about.
The main fill that later popped out:

Various damage or fills. The ding on the rim and again the dent in the copper was, ahem, self inflicted.

Despite this I really love this pipe. For whatever reason (maybe it's just cope!) the burnished copper goes a long way to make the damage feel like it's part of the pipe for me.

There are 4 X105 rusticateds on SP EU.
I know, I was just betting on the possibility that if I don't like the 102 by the time I return it the 105s may no longer be there.

In the interest of saving my marriage I swore that I would only buy one more pipe and it would be a Peterson P-Lip Spigot. I think the copper is really slick. I'm really torn...

I have Christmas pipe, an XL90 from 2020 that smokes well, and has moderate sandblast but the drilling is off abit, a decent pipe overall. Not sure about the pre-carbon treatment they gave the bowl interior, they SP, said it facilitates the break-in process.

Wont be partaking this year. It seems that as much as I love Peterson, I can't help wonder if they are just exhausting a reserve of copper with their spigots and previous iterations of the Christmas pipes. I'm waiting for something more unique than the copper/dark color scheme/ black or cumberland stem.

I've bought the last 3 years and apart from the stem and mount system there isn't really a drastic difference.

I was hoping for more of a red/green/white theme.
