I've read that before, perhaps it was your own words in another post a while back AND decided to adopt it as philosophy. Thanks? lolNothing wrong with a collection of a particular shape.

I like the ZULU lean of this shape! Zulu is a great fishing shape.
Humility has taken a back seat to selfishness in today's modern society. I am lucky enough to have parents who taught me (a millennial) respect for my fellow man. This is what I like about this pipe. It looks like a bridge between societal expectations and the true world we live in now.Yes, I agree with that sentiment. T'is exactly why the book remains a classic AND I think one may (perhaps) extrapolate those thoughts to the multitudes in cities as we no longer even pay lip service /credence to denying ones self for the greater good. Kindness? ha! Small towns at least need to pretend to get along with the butcher or barber or grocer as they may (perhaps) be the only game in town. "Kids just need to suck it up when parents split, no need to work things out with her/him, just walk!" McDonald's taught the boomers & me genz well, "you deserve a break today' or Burger King's "have it YOUR way' and a thousand other ideas. How many people today don't even know their neighbors? Yeah, retired school teacher on a rant here. Seen lots of hurt kids with the 'hundred mile stare of soldiers'. Who can learn like that?
....sigh....
Okay... rant over. The duality of man is a great topic for the "thinking man to ponder as he pipes his Peterson. be well...
I have similar reaction to vulcanite stems. Then this years Peterson Christmas series started to grow on me, and I pulled the trigger for a 150 bulldog. To me, aesthetics sometimes overwrite rationality.Acrylic. Pffft.
Actually, the only thing stopping me from buying a Christmas Pete this year was the fishtail stems. I was glad to see they were all vulcanite though! Why no p-lips? Some nice looking pipes, but nothing more attractive than their regular offerings. (I will be buying a system spigot 317 at some point. Nice shapes. I like that 303 too!) Anyway, the fact that this or that lot is named after a holiday, or a book, is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. I don't get it. Nonetheless, it's always good to see people sharing their enjoyment of pipes, even if they are hideous monstrosities like those J&H's. To each their own.I have similar reaction to vulcanite stems. And now, just talking about rationality, I love this design combined with System features (and the book itself) so much that I ordered two from the Haloween series;
A 317:

This year's end is going to be dedicated to my Irish bunch of pipes.
I have a smooth 80S (bent bulldog) Dracula, it's a great smoker. I missed 2021's Halloween pipes, those were the System version of Dracula pipes. I still regret that I didn't buy one from that series. But hey, Dracula pipes are still around, and I'll definitely order at least one more.I've been wanting a Peterson Jekyll & Hyde pipe for awhile and glad I held out long enough for this System version to come along. I ordered it in the 315XL shape and can't wait to get my hands on it. This will be my first Peterson pipe but certainly not the last as I will be adding a Dracula to the collection before too long.
I see your point. P-lip is a very good invention, I don't understand why it is not used on more pipes, especially at Peterson, and special releases. Yeah, many people prefer fishtail, but then they could offer the option for both, like with System Standards. I guess it's cheaper this way. Anyhow, thanks for the compliments, I'm really excited about these pipes!Actually, the only thing stopping me from buying a Christmas Pete this year was the fishtail stems. So? Did you return it?Haven't liked the Jekyll & Hyde look before, but the reddish coloring made all the difference.
And the acrylic stem.
And it's a P-lip.
So I ordered another 314 (I think my 7th one), this time from this line.
But if it's lacking that redness in my hand like it does in some of the pics... it just may get returned.
That seemed to make a big difference for my aesthetic appreciation.
Awaiting arrival.So? Did you return it?
