Update. This stuff is fantastic!! Almost has a slight vinegar lite smell. Very tasty. Good smoke. I’ll already miss it when it’s gone.
Nothing like the "hiss" and aroma when opening a cutter top! Congrats on your find. I've smoked many tins of SE Roundells, I've never had Roundells in a cutter top though. It was one of my favorites.Update. This stuff is fantastic!! Almost has a slight vinegar lite smell. Very tasty. Good smoke. I’ll already miss it when it’s gone.

And that tin is nearly 100 years old? Even at 70 or 80, it never ceases to amaze me that tobacco can (though not always) be eminently smokable at that age.Update. This stuff is fantastic!! Almost has a slight vinegar lite smell. Very tasty. Good smoke. I’ll already miss it when it’s gone.

Is this mixture some kind of Virginia based blend? Any latakia or oriental in it that you know of?
Rhodes, nice.
A seventy-three.Rhodes, nice.
I've got a single solitary tin of 40th that I imported into the UK a few years back. It's from 2017, as well, and I've heard nothing but great things about it. I'm sure you'll enjoy thatView attachment 401930

From 2017…sticky residue on inside off the tin. Haven’t seen that before. Inside of tin at ten o’clock in the photo looks like moisture droplets. Very sticky icky.

For a brief moment I was able to smell this pictureA few weeks ago there was a thread about the newer Escudo Navy Deluxe being packaged differently. I have a few tins from around the turn of the last century, and a few from Oct 2024. I know the AC Peterson from 2000 is presented spread nicely in the circle tin, with the rippled paper.
I opened one from 2024 last week, and im smoking some now.
Wow, it is nothing like 25 years ago.
Where is the dark and tangy fig flavor? And the deep rich tobacco flavor?
Anyways, this tin was presented in the square paper in 2 short rows.
