Today was the first time for me trying it. So far I like it quite a bit. James is a good blender and puts his heart into what he does.

Mcconnells Latakia Flake. This blend is bold, strong, and floral. Like a lakeland dark-fired blend.

Cracked open a three year old (March 2021) tin of Elizabethan Mixture. Has a very raisin like tin note.

So far it’s…fine. Absolutely nothing to write home about. I prefer Derringer, Simply Orange, Kendall Gold etc.
Tin note smelled like it had a topping but that topping isn’t in the smoke as far as I can tell. It’s very natural and, frankly, boring. No bite for me and seems to be easy going in the bowl.
Now onto the pics…

2019 Hu Zulu. This blend is one of the most complex blends I've ever had. It's smoky, spicy, slightly sweet- a full latakia blend without being harsh or one dimensional. This is one of the best full Englishes I've ever had.

@hoipolloiglasgow Zulu is also good with an extra pinch of perique and/or some additional Lat. Its a great belnd.
Ashton Gold Rush, a light Va with honey and lemon. An easy smoke, maybe about the same or less flavoring as OGS.
I found it to have enough latakia without being too much. I can see the perique though. There really isn't anything else on the market like this blend except maybe another Hu blend. I'm already looking to get more of it and try some other Hu Englishes.
The only reason I add more lat is it tends to fade for me about half way in and I miss it.

No, not at all. It's just like a can of vegetables. It's made to go in a jar immediately. The quality is absolutely top notch and these blends are unique-zero stems/veins in any of them I've tries thus far. Estervals should be able to ship to you if interested.
I have probably 30 HU blends, including Zulu, and none of them come in “cutter tops”. They’re either normal flat, round tins or “paint can” style.
