Could you store tobacco in that bag for long time or does it get dry?
Metallized Mylar is an excellent choice for long term storage. Earlier this year I opened a 22 year old commercially released Mylar bag of GLP Haddo’s Delight and it was in perfect shape. Transcendent smoking.I've had some tobacco's in mylar bags for over a year without heat sealing them, without an appreciable loss of moisture. Plugs particularly retain moisture really well in my experience.
However, I usually only mylar bag blends that are in my current rotation, so I haven't really done the "ultra long term" storage with them. @sablebrush52 has some experience in this area and may be able to shed some light.
I’ve bagged up a lot of Esoterica bags, because they’re too lightweight and they’ve held up well.
Mylar holds up better than tins in my experience. Heat sealed, the contents are good for decades. Without the heat seal, the contents will hold up for years. I’ve been smoking from several bags for the last 2+ years with no issues, such as drying out.
