Last pictured, the MM cob looks fine. Your determination is admirable. Many an old timer went with one pipe at a time, and sometimes it was a cob.

253.
Smoking only one pipe is much more maintenance than I thought. The cleaning of the pipe is hard to keep up on!

Gotta ream it again, bowls are getting smaller.

I am smoking less frequently, but not because of the pipe. I'm smoking less because of work and the cold. I've been back up to a minimum of two bowls a day though. One on the way to, and one on the way home.

Thanks Orley!
I changed the stem back to the bent black one. The orange one I had on it was becoming too uncomfortable, with the huge bite mark craters in it. Also reamed it again. Massive chunks of cake came out once again.
It's like a new pipe! But smokes like a well used friend!

Maybe you should do a briar or meerschaum for a year after this. We could set up your smoking schedule for the next few years

So, it's a ~6.00 pipe.. you smoke Carter Hall exclusively, right?
By my math, you're smoking for just about .50 cents a day, and that will only get better the longer the cob lasts.
I like it!
