Pipes doin great! I usually like more cake than that, but I don't want to add stress to the bowl. And the smokes are longer now after the ream!
What do you mean by webcam exactly?

Hahaha I needed a good laugh. Trust me, it isn't something you would want to watch.

I managed to get 37 perfect bowls out of a pouch of Carter Hall. Ymmv. Lasted me 6 days on a slow smoking week.

I do keep a couple other blends on hand to change things up. Old Dark Fired, and Briar Fox share shelf space with my beloved Carter Hall. Right now I'm smoking a mix of those two, I call it... Dark fox! See, I'm not always boring!

Well, it's the end of my second full week. Smokes get better every day. No soggyness yet. Here he is with bowl number 86 smoking away.

I've decided that if I last an entire year, that I have earned my first Meerschaum pipe. So I'll be saving up for it soon.

Auburnfan, things are going great! The pipe is the Rob Roy Legend. Tomorrow will be the beginning of week 4, and I'm at 112 bowls. No soggyness, no sourness. I have been doing my best to keep it clean after every smoke, or second smoke.
I will admit, spending time looking at all these nice pipes, I miss my briars a lot. But I wont give in till the cob does! Or after a year.

Best of luck to you. I love my briars too, but sometimes there's nothing better than a bowl in my mark Twain, country gentleman, or even my small Tom Sawyer that I can just throw in my pocket. Keep up the great work for the community!

So it's been one month. With all the rain we have been getting, my pipe smoking has dramatically slowed down. But the skies are finally clearing up, so things are looking good up ahead.
This is bowl 136. It's holding up great. The outside is not as smooth as it used to be. The kernels are becoming more pronounced. No cracking, or swelling yet, but I've been cleaning it regularly, and reaming it every two weeks so far, to keep the bowl dry.
No end in sight.
