How many times are we going to have to answer the same rookie questions?!?!

I'm sure you've been told 100 times @sablebrush52, you need to rotate your pipes!

Every 3 puffs, take the pipe out of your mouth, rotate it 10 times clockwise. Next 3 puffs, 10 times counter-clockwise. Repeat until you finish the bowl. (if you're in England, do anti-clockwise)

This helps evenly distribute the smoke so that both sides taste the same everyday at every hour. Even on leap years.

I almost forgot the most important part. Clockwise rotations are done right handed and counter clockwise is done left handed. Do your rotations wrong handed and it'll push all the flavor to the center of the bowl and leave the outer tobacco flavorless.
So thats what I have been doing wrong all along!! Instead of rotating the pipe, I have been spinning in circles. I have noticed when I did this only the outer edge had any flavor.

Thanks for the insight!

You probably used the wrong coin to pry open the tin, thus the uneven taste distribution. Usually I open American blends with a quarter and EU blends with a one Euro coin but I keep an old British coin for SG square tins. Mixing genres/coins improperly can make the tobacco taste just awful - not as bad as using a yellow stem on a red sandblast stummel, but close, very close.

Amateur, I only smoke Copes Escudo and only open my tins with with a gold doubloon recovered from the wreck of the Atocha. 🧐

I know this seems odd, and it's even more intense during leap years, but when I pack a bowl and smoke it, the left side of the bowl, left from the perspective of the smoker, tastes different from the right side of the bowl. This is particularly noticeable in stack shapes. It's like I have two distinct blends, side by side, smoldering away. My question is, why is this more intense during leap years?
You obviously have your nostrils reversed during retrohaling...will induce CHOD (chamber half oppositional disorder) every time.

The rare subvariant CHOD-LYDS (leap year delusion syndrome) occurs only when the initial nostril reversal happens on Feb 29th.

Possible sign of brain disconnect. You left side of brain thinks right side of the bowl tastes one way and vice versa. Only one way to solve this issue. While smoking the pipe spin rapidly in counterclockwise. One you notice the taste coming to left side is different from the right side, start spinning clockwise. And repeat changing directions as needed. It will confuse your brain, and possibly cause impact brain concussion enough to not notice that taste different to each side.

P.S. I do not play doctor on TV, nor in real life. Try above at your discretion.
