Unless your stress is caused by not smoking, the pipe is simply diverting you from resolving the cause of the stress. Or, perhaps too much disposable money is causing the stress. In that case watching your cash waft away in smoke would indeed reduce your stress. I stand corrected.

But if work causes you stress and smoking a pipe is not work then smoking a pipe removes you from an activity which causes you stress. In either case, you are correct that watching smoke waft away is watching your cash waft away but given the choice of how to be separated from your cash, pipe smoking is an enjoyable decision.

That was a flip, early morning response. I should have shown a bit more sympathy to you for waking up stressed. That's too bad.

Me? Waking up stressed? Nope. I've work for myself for 10 years now and have a client base that with one exception never gives me any reason to be stressed. That one exception is someone that believes a deadline for releasing a finish product is when he needs to send me the necessary information to do the job.
I should also mention that this is one of the days of the week when I don't have to work. The only decisions I have to make on Wednesday is what tobacco to smoke first.
I was just showing sympathy for those who wake up in the morning and start to stress about everything in life.

Hipster here. Just checking in to see if anyone else here is hip. Seems like there are a lot of folks with a bad hip, but no one who is hip.
