I'm going to throw up an unopened tin 'o this, as I like the idea of this thread. This thread is the kind of stuff that makes the World be a better place to be stuck in. I think it is awesome some of you guys are giving away pipes, and such. Even if well used and appreciated and not Dunhills (often the best kind - the well used and appreciated part, not the lot of money part. Though I am sure people rightly enjoy and appreciate their Dunhills, too, lol, and they indeed are beautiful pipes). Those well used meerschaum were awesome, whatever their actual monetary value, and I'm sure put a smile on whoever's face got 'em in the mail. Taking the time to package up and paying the postage to send opened tins you bought to try but know after a few bowls you are never going to enjoy to new homes instead of the trash can is pretty cool, too.
I was fortunate enough to have two tins and a bag of Penzance fall in my lap not too long ago. I was going to open this tin at the end of April on my Birthday, so here's my Birthday present to myself, well, to you, now. Sometimes the best kind of giving stings a little bit, and sometimes someone needs to undercut the Esoterica Baccy Speculators who scoop up as much as they can for no other reason than to immediately try to transfer as much money as possible from one pipe smoker's pocket to theirs, if only one tin at a time, and this kills two birds with one stone, err, satisfies two pipe smokers with one tin, lol.
Considering I smoke more VaPers and VAs than Latakia blends, I truly enjoy and appreciate a Latakia when it suits my palate, as Penzance does. I'll miss it, but I still have an 8 oz bag in the closet to open and enjoy towards the end of Summer, and I have a feeling that whomever PMs me first will really appreciate getting this in the mail. The rules are the rules, so if a Baccy Speculator PMs me first and this tin gets thrown up on the net for $50+ dollars, well, I'm writing my name on the back of it with a Sharpie so the buyer can out you and we can all ostracize you and banish you from the herd, lol.
